Here is a radical thought that you may have never considered in the context of an employment situation, but it fits. If your job is taken from you, don’t try to get it back. Let God take you to a new place where you can perform and contribute again. But what if you loved what you were doing? That’s great — because it means that you have the capacity to love your work. What if you felt safe and secure there? You were mistaen — because there is no such thing as job security in the world any more. God alone is our security. So never offer to take any old job if they’ll just let you stay. You are a child of God, and you are not desperate! This could be the most important, faith-growing time of your life. Decide to put your hand in God’s hand and see where He’ll lead you.
