Battle
We’ve heard that the devil will flee if we resist him. But many of us have experienced defeat as a result of those encounters. Why didn’t this promise work? The answer is in the opening line of this scriptural reference: “So humble yourselves before God.” Our victory is not our doing. It comes from Jesus and His anointing. We'll get beaten up every time if we go out in our own strength. Faith in His name and in the completed work He accomplished — the destruction of the works of the devil — is what we need. When we understand what He did for us and how He has positioned us, we will rise up in power and authority. Then our resistance of the enemy will send him packing.
